A senior team, opinionated about how good software gets built.
Aithical is an independently-owned engineering and workforce partner — US-headquartered in Charlotte, NC, working with clients across the country. We believe in long engagements, transparent operations, and the unglamorous work that separates good software from great.
Built by engineers, run like a craft shop.
We started Aithical because consulting was broken. Senior engineers were trapped behind sales decks, junior teams were sold as senior, and the people pitching the work weren't the people doing it. We wanted to fix the simple things first.
Today we're a team of about 60 — engineers, designers, product, and operators — distributed across the US with a small hub in Charlotte. We're independently owned, intentionally small, and structured around long engagements with the same customers. We don't take on work where we'd be embarrassed by the result.
The clients who stay with us tend to share two qualities: they care about the people doing the work, and they're willing to pay for craft. We've never been the cheapest option. We've often been the last one a customer ever needed.
How we deliver outcomes, not output.
Outcome-shaped engagements. Senior staff on every project. Real models with careful boundaries. Transparent collaboration. These four principles shape how every engagement runs — and they're written into our master services agreement, not just our marketing.
01 / Outcome-first scoping
Every engagement starts with a problem statement and a definition of done. We won't bill against ambiguous goals.
02 / Senior staff on every project
You meet your team during sales. We don't bait-and-switch — the seniors who pitch ship.
03 / AI where it earns its place
Real models behind real workflows. We tell you when AI doesn't help — and when it actively hurts.
04 / Transparent collaboration
Shared tooling, weekly demos, one shared roadmap. No surprises in the monthly invoice.
The team behind the work.
Three founders, two decades of building software for hospitals, banks, retailers, and the public sector. We're hands-on operators — every leader at Aithical still ships code, runs reviews, or sits in customer interviews most weeks.
Redde Anand
Spent a decade in IT staffing before starting Aithical. Owns the customer relationship and the hard conversations.
Sloane Newman
15 years building platforms at scale. Runs our engineering practice and the apprenticeship that develops our seniors.
Marcos Rivera
Former program lead for federal modernisation projects. Owns delivery rigour, governance, and the difficult timelines.
What to expect when you apply.
Three steps, typically seven days end-to-end. We don't believe in eight-round interviews — they correlate with attrition, not retention.
Intro call
A conversation with a recruiter or hiring manager about your work, what you're looking for, and what we'd actually do together.
Working session
A real problem from a recent project — collaborative, conversational, no whiteboard tricks. You see how we think; we see how you think.
Team round + offer
Meet two future colleagues. We make decisions in the room and follow up with a written offer the same week.
How we work together.
Remote-first. Quarterly meet-ups in Charlotte and Austin. Generous learning budgets. No overnight Slack expectations. We invest in people for the long term — most of our team is on at least their second year with us.
Strong opinions, weak grip
We argue technical decisions hard, then commit. The strongest argument wins — not the most senior voice.
Boring is a feature
We pick the boring tools that work. Innovation budget goes where it pays — not where it sparkles.
Honest in week one
If a project is off-track, you'll hear it from us before the steering committee does. Always.
Long-term over short-term
We turn down work we can't do well. Reputation compounds; chasing every dollar doesn't.
Want to work with us, or for us?
Either path starts the same way — a conversation. Pick one.
