Services / Product Engineering

Product teams that ship the thing customers asked for.

We're the product engineering partner you call when you have a real idea and a real budget — and you need a team that can take it from a Notion doc to a launched product without losing the plot.

What it is

The work, plainly described.

Product Engineering is the practice that combines discovery, design, and delivery into a single accountable team. Where Software Engineering is engineer-led, Product Engineering is product-led — research, prototypes, hypothesis testing, and the engineering muscle to ship the answer fast. We work with founders pre-PMF, product teams launching new lines, and enterprises spinning up new ventures.

Where it fits
  • Pre-PMF foundersYou have a thesis, some funding, and need to prove the product before the next raise. We've been the engineering wing for 12 funded startups.
  • New product linesExisting company, new SKU. You need a team that can move at startup speed inside enterprise constraints.
  • Innovation labsF500 innovation teams launching the third pivot of an internal venture. We've worked with three of them.
  • Spinout & carve-outPE-backed product spin-out that needs to operate independently within 12 months.
Capabilities

What we'll actually do.

Each of these is a deliverable category, not a buzzword bullet. We scope, build, and stay accountable for each one.

Product discovery

User research, problem framing, hypothesis design, and the discovery sprints that prevent building the wrong thing.

Rapid prototyping

Working software in week 1. Not Figma. Real prototypes you can put in front of users.

Full-stack delivery

Web, mobile, API. Design system, infrastructure, observability — built in from sprint zero.

AI-native product features

When the product needs LLMs, retrieval, or agentic behavior, we don't hand it off to a separate team.

Product analytics

Mixpanel, Amplitude, custom event taxonomies. Instrumented from day one because retroactive analytics is impossible.

Beta & launch management

Beta cohort management, feedback loops, public launch choreography, and the post-launch metric reviews that decide what ships next.

Process

How an engagement actually runs.

No mystery, no shifting goalposts. Five phases with measurable outcomes per phase.

Discovery sprint

Two-to-four weeks. User interviews, problem framing, design sprints, and a build plan with hypotheses to test.

Sprint zero

Working deployable in week one. Empty app, real CI, real observability — proves the path to production works.

Iterative build

Two-week iterations. We ship something testable every sprint and run weekly demos with target users.

Beta launch

Closed beta with 10-50 users. Daily metrics, weekly product review, fast iteration on what we learn.

GA & sustained delivery

Public launch with marketing-coordinated cutover. Continued delivery cadence as long as you need us.

Why us

Three things you should know.

Product, design, and engineering together

Every engagement has a product lead, a design lead, and an engineering lead from day one. No swimlanes.

We make hypotheses, not assumptions

Every feature we build has a measurable hypothesis. If it fails, we kill it — and we'll tell you that.

Founders aren't left holding the bag

Documentation, hiring help, and a structured handoff to your in-house team are part of every engagement.

Frequently asked

The questions everyone asks.

Do you do design too?
Yes — product design is integrated. We have senior designers who've shipped consumer and B2B products. We don't outsource the design work.
Can you join an existing product team?
Yes. We embed often. We can be the engineering team while you're the product team, or we can pair across both.
Are you a fit for pre-seed startups?
Usually no — we're an expensive partner for pre-seed. We're a fit for funded ventures with a real budget for the first 12 months.
Will you take equity?
Occasionally, on a case-by-case basis. We'll have an honest conversation if it's a fit.
What about ongoing operation after launch?
We can continue as the engineering team, hand off to your in-house team, or hand off to our Managed IT Services practice for ongoing operation. Your call.
