Edtech that respects students and teachers.

We build learning platforms and student engagement systems that work for the people who use them — students, teachers, and the IT teams that have to keep them running on a budget.

What it is

The work, plainly described.

Education is the industry where engineering judgment meets policy reality — FERPA, COPPA, IDEA, and the eight different accessibility standards that all matter. We build learning platforms, SIS integrations, and engagement tools with the privacy and accessibility hygiene that K-12 and higher-ed institutions need, and the UX polish that edtech founders are trying to achieve.

Where it fits
  • K-12 districts & networksCharter networks, state agencies, and large districts modernizing student-facing platforms.
  • Higher educationUniversities and community colleges with custom integration needs around SIS, LMS, and student services.
  • Edtech companiesFunded edtech startups building consumer or B2B education products.
  • Workforce training & corporate L&DCompanies building workforce learning platforms, often connected to HR and credentialing systems.
Capabilities

What we'll actually do.

Each of these is a deliverable category, not a buzzword bullet. We scope, build, and stay accountable for each one.

Learning platforms

LMS extensions (Canvas, Blackboard, Schoology), custom learning experiences, content authoring.

Adaptive & AI tutoring

Adaptive practice systems, AI tutoring, and the eval discipline to make sure the AI is actually teaching.

SIS & data integration

PowerSchool, Infinite Campus, Banner, Workday Student. Roster sync, grade passback, OneRoster.

FERPA & COPPA

Privacy by design, parental consent flows, data residency, and the legal review your DPO will appreciate.

Accessibility (WCAG)

WCAG 2.1 AA conformance with manual testing — not just automated scans. Section 508 and ADA Title II readiness.

Engagement analytics

Student engagement, learning analytics, and the dashboards educators actually use.

Process

How an engagement actually runs.

No mystery, no shifting goalposts. Five phases with measurable outcomes per phase.

Discovery & stakeholder mapping

Educators, administrators, parents, students, IT — we listen to all of them. Most edtech failures are stakeholder mismatches.

Compliance foundation

FERPA/COPPA-aligned data architecture, accessibility baseline, and content moderation infrastructure.

Iterative build

Two-week sprints with educator UAT. We test in real classrooms when possible.

Pilot & field testing

Closed pilot with 3-10 schools, then expanding rollout based on real-world feedback.

Sustained operation

Year-round operation including peak load planning around exams and registration windows.

Why us

Three things you should know.

Accessibility is a release blocker

We don't ship features without WCAG 2.1 AA conformance. It's in our SOWs.

We've worked with school IT

We understand the constraints — devices, networks, identity, district-procurement timelines.

Privacy is built in, not bolted on

FERPA/COPPA compliance is part of our discovery, not a last-minute audit.

Frequently asked

The questions everyone asks.

Do you support OneRoster and LTI?
Yes — OneRoster v1.1/v1.2 for roster sync and LTI 1.3 (with LTI Advantage services) for LMS integration.
How do you handle parental consent (COPPA)?
We design parental consent flows aligned with COPPA Safe Harbor frameworks. For schools, we leverage the school-as-agent model where appropriate.
Do you build for state procurement?
Yes — we've supported education vendors through state-level procurement reviews including data privacy questionnaires (CDE-DTPA, NTIA-style).
Can you handle exam-day traffic spikes?
Yes. We design for peak windows (state assessments, registration days) and run load tests at 10× normal load.
What about AI in education?
We're selective. We won't build AI features that aren't educationally validated. We work with curriculum experts and run classroom pilots before claiming pedagogical impact.
